Keep Your Business Like Your Fitness, Focused On Yourself
Today a lot of us are obsessed with working out, I mean I see it everywhere, gyms on every corner, juice shops, advertising, bloggers on social media and in the news. We see all these fitness images and options and people telling us what to do. I personally love working out but it can all be a little ridiculous. I mean how many times can you reinvent the fitness wheel. SO many people telling you what to do, you are lost. Sometimes I feel like I am in Ikea when hearing about all the fitness options. (if anyone has gone to Ikea you know what I am talking about). Its a good analogy I feel for life and business.
We can correlate a lot of what we do in fitness to our daily life. So all these fitness options kind of correlate to all the options we have now in life with technology and business. We can get confused, excited and overwhelmed by all our options. Let's not get overwhelmed, it only means we have more opportunities to find our niche in life. When you concentrate on your inner self you are able to have that reflect your surroundings. In todays world now you have such specific options that its crazy all these advances has now made it easier than ever to find a niche that reflects you.
My two cents, if you read my past articles, is always concentrate on yourself and what makes you happy with exercise and business. You don't need to belong to three different gyms and follow all these regimens, unless it makes you happy. You treat your fitness like your business and you concentrate on you. Don't concentrate on the eight pack abs man/woman because their story isn't the same as yours. If you have two kids and a successful business you cant workout twelve times a day. So do what you can and when you can so that it makes you happy, that's it.
It is one of the reasons that I love fitness because so much is relatable to our daily lives. Everything from the grind, sweat, focus and concentration of it that you can move right into your business lives. Just like what I was discussing with fitness and concentrating on yourself you want to narrow your focus in business. You want to be simple like exercising because after all like I said how many times can you really reinvent fitness. Business is the same principle as this, no matter what you are doing you are just putting a different spin on it like all these fitness gyms. When you concentrate on yourself and your business you can hone in on the niche you need to fill.
Perfect example of fitness and business is Barry's Bootcamp and SoulCycle they are two niche gyms that are doing nothing new. They just took a new spin on group classes and old school style workouts. They just made the class workout experiences feel like you were at a club with a DJ instead of so instructional, basically Richard Simmons on steroids. That is the power of concentrating on yourself in business and not worrying what others are doing. You are able to tap into a specific niche.
Stay focused on yourself like you stay focused on your exercise, be in the moment, in your niche. Know your surroundings but don't become overwhelmed by them and just flow with your idea.
