I'll Tell You Where To Invest Your Hard Earned Cash, Yourself
I talk all the time about investing in yourself and where NOT to put your money to protect the asset which is you. So where do you put it? Well to start it depends on what you want to accomplish in life. I want to go over a few basics that point you in the right direction whether you are thinking about college, have already went but want to further educate yourself or see a need to change professions. I want you too look at these subjects getting a certification/license, attending industry events, networking events and getting a self degree in Google, Bing and Yahoo (more on this later).
Lets look at getting certified or a license, you can obtain these in many different fields such as IT, real estate, banking and finance for example. They are all offered at a MUCH more reasonable rate than college and honestly you don't need a college degree to be accepted by one. This certification gives you an affordable access to an industry to give yourself a track record and real feeling of the business which unfortunately a lot of times college doesn't provide, barring internships but if you take the internship in college and realize you don't like to actually work in your major what then? So these licenses and certifications are a much more affordable and real way to accomplish your goals. Oh and they give you what ANY REAL employer wants, a track record of success, proven ability in the real world not on paper.
Industry leading events and networking events vary in many different categories and prices. Some are cheap and some are crazy expensive. No matter which one you go too though, you need to go with a sharp mindset in place. You are there to network and that's it, you want quality and volume in your networking and the people you meet there. They can be the ones that believe in you from the beginning and if you have a vision they can see it too. So when you go to these events you want to have a clear thought out vision in place. This way your networking has a clear purpose and you can meet with like minded people. If you go without a clear vision then you are just talking. Have that vision in place that you can surround yourself with those that can propel your success.
Lastly get yourself on Google, Bing and Yahoo every single day. You have the whole world of information at your fingertips. You can buy every single college text book a professor will teach you on Amazon. So study up and cut your education costs tremendously with this. Absorb everything around through this wide world of information and knowledge. Never before has all this information been so free and easy to access so make use of it and learn.
Bottom line invest in yourself no one will return a greater ROI for you then yourself.
