You Think Your Eating Healthy, You're Not
The biggest health risk in the United States is the food and water. That's it, what we are eating is not natural (even when companies say it is) it's chemicals mixed together to be more marketable and addictive, it's a business. Food has no longer become just about eating and what you need to survive it is a competitive business and owners want to do anything to have and KEEP your business. So most of what has been done to food is about making it more marketable and addictive to people. It's such an important part of our daily lives and affects our health, mental state and ability to live happy lives. It is only starting to become prevalent how bad food can be for us but when you really look into it, its much, much more worrisome. I am writing this because changing my diet has helped me tremendously with my physical and mental state and giving this small advice may help you also.
Let's start with the basics, most of what we see and eat is a marketing gimmick with the intent of making the sale based on our eyes not whats actually good for us. When we look at something as basic as fruit we think instinctively this is the healthy choice. Its not necessarily the fruit that's bad its what we do to it that's bad. Let's take apples for example a seemly healthy apple in which you eat one a day you keep the doctor away is not as healthy as you think. First you have to go to the source of the farm, does the farm use chemicals in the ground that get to the fruit at an early age, do they use pesticides that seep into the fruit? All these things can change the chemical composition of the apple. I'm not a scientist or doctor but that doesn't seem right, add on top of that in order to get an apple to shine and increase shelf life they put shellac on the apple. Shellac is also used to shine floors and in car wax. Not sure but I don't believe that is good for you either.
What all this does is create 100% unnatural food even when it says 100% natural. It is changing our food and our bodies aren't built for it. We have only been eating this type of food for roughly 70 years so in the grand scheme of things it is a very short study of how this food actually affects us but the signs are everywhere in the United States with an overweight and sick population. Our food is making us sick.
So what you can do to avoid this is be more proactive and you have to go straight to the source, the farm. Where is your food coming from and what are they doing to it? The proactive steps you need to do are a lot because our food system has been turned into a corporate industrial system that has to be reversed and go back to local farming. You have to know the farm your getting your food from and that they don't use anything that common sense would tell you not to eat. When it comes to food in the store you should also keep it simple, if it has more then five ingredients stay away, if you cant pronounce the ingredients and don't understand what it is stay away.
It's very simple it's common sense don't eat what you don't know. I myself have done this and have seen a tremendous difference in my energy levels, been able to keep my weight steady, mood swings have stopped and my overall positivity level has drastically increased. Cutting down on a lot of this food has improved my life tremendously and has grown my productivity ten fold. Sourcing your food down to the specific farm and ingredients is a lot of work but it is the best ROI you can make in your life. Make the investment.
